Earn Your Community Service Hours While Working Outdoors to Beautify Your Community!
We have over 10 edible gardens around Pickens County that need caring for and offer weekly hours in different gardens every Sunday from 2-4pm.
Garden location for this Sunday will be announced the day before the event, via text or email to registered KPB Teens.
Gardening Activities Include:
Planting new plants, fertilizing plants, fresh soil, compost and mulch, weeding,
watering, pruning, collecting seeds, labeling plants, cleaning up litter around garden, etc.
What Should I Bring?
KPB has gardening tools, but students are encouraged to bring their own,
as well as water, sunscreen, bug spray or snacks as needed.Â
**Please arrive 30 minutes early to your first community service event,
or 15 minutes if you’ve already been to allow for preparation and instructions.

Can I bring a friend?Â
All helpers are welcome as long as students are registered and parent waivers are signed. Keep Pickens Beautiful may confirm verbally with parents.Â
What if the weather is bad?Â
If the weather is forecasted to be rainy or stormy or even too hot, we will skip the event planned for that day and pick up with the next scheduled event for the following week.
