For the past few years\, KPB has worked with NOVUS solutions. They have a facility in Marietta that properly and safely recycles those old CRT monitors. We’ll collect them and package them for NOVUS to pick up and safely transport to their facility.

On March 14th\, KPB is hosting a “Hard-to-Recycle” items event at the Pickens County Recycle Center (on Appalachian Court) from 11am-4pm where we will collect these hard to recycle items and recycle them for you. \n\n\n\nWhere are your ‘hard to recycle’ materials going? CHARM is a recycling facility in Atlanta that accepts a wide range of materials\, so we will take your items there for you since it’s a bit of a drive from here\, to save you the drive. 😁🚚♻️ \n\n\n\nItems that will be accepted*:\n\n\n\nStyrofoamFlorescent tube lights**Corrugated plastic signsShrink wrap(FREE OF CHARGE) \n\n\n\nThis event will kickoff the Great American Cleanup months of March and April! DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 4th annual Earth Day on Main celebration! This year\, we will be celebrating right in the parking lot at the KPB Office. Each year this event is a little different depending on our current focuses and programs. This year we will not be including vendors\, and will focus on eco-friendly activities and educational workshops for the whole family! \n\n\n\nWe are also curating a local plant swap\, just dig one up from your yard and swap it with one you might not have from someone else in the community! We will also be celebrating the efforts of all of the Litter-O-Lympics participants with medals and prizes for who collected the most litter in the competition. Help us celebrate their amazing efforts! (It’s not too late to participate if you want to join in the fun\, the competition ends April 18th.) \n\n\n\nIf you are interested in teaching the community something special or maybe have a fun eco-friendly craft you’d like to include\, please contact us!
