SUMMARY:Edible Jasper Spring Begins 2022!
DESCRIPTION:Spring is in the air!  It’s time to get the Edible Jasper gardens started! \n\n\n\nApril is the Great American Cleanup\, so we’re going to start the month’s activities with cleaning up the gardens to prep them for new plants.  If the weather cooperates\, we may start planting some of our cold tolerant starts.  We have kale varieties\, swiss chard\, boy choy\, pac choy\, and more that are ready to go in the ground asap!  And we have a Serviceberry tree that we’ll plant in front of the Kirby-Quinton cabin. \n\n\n\nWatch for updates as we modify the event plans based on the weather. \n\n\n\nJoin us for part or all of the day’s events.  We’ll start in the gardens behind the Kirby-Quinton cabin and in the Pickens Progress parking lot\, and will work our way down Main Street. \n\n\n\nCome play in the dirt with us!  Meet new friends!  And have fun while beautifying Main Street!

SUMMARY:Let's Clean Up Pickens! part 1
DESCRIPTION:Join the Great American Cleanup this April! Help Pickens County contribute to the billions of pieces of trash being removed from neighborhoods\, rivers\, trails\, and parks during Earth Day month. \n\n\n\nKeep Pickens Beautiful will spearhead two local cleanups for streets identified as “most littered” by the county. Join one of those clean-up teams or organize your own neighborhood clean-up with your neighbors. KPB will provide supplies to help you in this effort. \n\n\n\nTogether we can make a stand in April to restore our neighborhoods and make Pickens know as the cleanest\, greenest\, brightest county in North Georgia. \n\n\n\nHow can you participate?  Join us on the westside on April 9 as we clean up Carver Mill Road! \n\n\n\nMeet us at Hinton Milling at 10:00.Pull to the end of their parking lot – do not block their gate please!KPB will have safety vests\, pick-up sticks\, and gloves.  If you have any of these items\, please bring them since our supplies are limited. \n\n\n\nKPB will also sponsor a cleanup on the eastside on April 30\, so come join our clean-up team or let us know what neighborhood you would like to sponsor.
