SUMMARY:SERVE PICKENS: Edible Pickens Garden Project
DESCRIPTION:Join us for SERVE Pickens this year as revitalize the Pickens Progress Edible Garden. We will be doing some garden maintenance\, weeding\, mulching\, fertilizing and adding some cool weather plants. No experience necessary\, just bring your smiling face! \n\n\n\nFROM THE SERVE PICKENS WEBSITE: \n\n\n\nOur day will begin at 8AM with breakfast in Jasper United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall where you will meet your Team Leader and get your t-shirt.  Then\, we will all travel to our volunteer sites for the day. The volunteer times noted are approximate and may vary depending upon the size of the group at the non-profit.  \n\n\n\nYour Team Leader will contact you before the event to fill you in on all the details\, including any required dress\, tools needed\, and your project’s location.  \n\n\n\nWe are asking all our volunteers to contribute to the Weekend Snack Program and CARES  by bringing a plastic jar of peanut butter\, or individually wrapped snack such as granola bars\, chips\, fruit snacks\, fruit cups\, etc. when you check-in at Jasper UMC. \n\n\n\nPlease sign up to volunteer by 9/30/2024 to get a t-shirt the day of the event. \n\n\n\n REGISTER HERE ON THE SERVE PICKENS’ WEBSITEhttps://www.servepickens.com/volunteer

SUMMARY:Edible Pickens: Recycle Center Garden Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Have you noticed the Edible garden we planted at the Pickens County Recycling Center? It sits right at the front entrance in front of the fence in the raised garden bed. This garden is thriving even though we just planted it over the summer! The loving Pickens County Recycle center staff has been taking great care of the garden\, and is able to enjoy it daily. We are hosting a cleanup event to help keep this garden thriving through the winter. It needs some weeding done\, some harvesting\, and some fertilizer. We may even add a few plants if needed! Come show the Recycle Center some love and join us for a few hours as we maintain this Edible Pickens garden. \n\n\n\nNo experience necessary.Tools and supplies provided.
