An action-packed 2025 GAC!
Each year, KPB participates in the nation’s largest community improvement program, the Great American Cleanup (GAC). This effort is sponsored by Keep America Beautiful, and 2025 is shaping up to be a big year for our programs in Pickens County.
This year, in preparation for the nation’s 205th Anniversary, Keep America Beautiful has re-named the event the GREATEST American Cleanup. Let’s all work together to make a big impact!
So mark your calendars! Join the KPB Volunteer Team for the 2025 Greatest American Cleanup and come help improve our community!

The Schedule
March 22
CRT TV recycling day and Hard-To-Recycle materials day. Join us at the central Pickens Recycling Center for this one-day event. Bring your old CRT TVs, plastics #3-7, corrugated plastic signs, styrofoam, and flourescent tube lights. There will be a small fee for CRT TVs and tube lights – all other materials can be recycled for FREE. Truck space is limited to get there early!

Add irrigation, soil, compost, seeds, and plants to the CARES Community Garden.
Publix is donating a day of service to KPB, so we’ll build and install misting and drip irrigation, we’ll add soil and compost to the beds, and we’ll add the first spring crops.
Big thanks to Publix for their volunteerism, Pickens County for the donated and delivered mulch, Hall Brothers for the donated soil, and the Pickens County community for growing plant starts and donating seeds to this amazing project.

2nd Litter-O-Lympics (formerly the Trash-O-Lympics)
We’re going to start the day with the Litter-O-Lympics! We had such a great time at the first event last year, we’re going to do it again! Learn more and register your Trashlete Team HERE.
This year’s Earth Day on Main is shaping up to be the best yet! Lots of crafts and activities for kids of all ages, live music, local farmers and artisans selling their goods, information from local resources, and much more!
