We have over 10 edible gardens around Pickens County that need caring for. We offer weekly hours in different gardens every weekend from 2-4pm.

Gardening activities include: planting new plants, fertilizing plants,  adding fresh soil, compost and mulch, weeding, watering, pruning, collecting seeds, labeling plants, cleaning up litter around garden, etc.

Every weekend from 2-4pm*

  • March 30th
  • April 6, 13, 19, 26
  • May 3, 10, 18, 25, 31
  • June 8, 15, 22, 29

Garden location for each week will be announced the day before the event, via text or email to registered KPB Teens, to ensure we are focusing our efforts on the gardens that need maintance at that time.

The goal of Edible Pickens is to provide food and herbs to the community for free, beautify unused or underused public spaces, ad to educate the community on how to grow lots of food in a small space.

Host a Litter Clean-up Event

Earn more hours by creating your very own litter clean-up event. Know of a park that needs cleaning? Or maybe a quiet street in your neighborhood that could use a little attention? Let us know that you would like to clean it up! We will help you organize it, give you all the supplies needed and be there to help you. It’s a fun way to get hours with friends and family!
