Great American Cleanup – April 2020

Due to the coronavirus, the GAC was limited in the activities that were planned for 2020.  The county again this year gave a tire amnesty, which yielded 1018 old tires, according to Kenneth Woodward, Recycling Director. They will be recycled into new products and kept out of back yards and off the roadsides.

KPB Adopt-A-Road Volunteers picked up 42 bags of trash from 13 miles of county roadways.  This amounts to 3.5 bags of trash per mile!

Our thanks to the City of Jasper for the beautiful flowers they planted all along Main Street.   KPB also wants to thank the businesses that joined our cigarette litter campaign. We trust those who shop downtown will take advantage of our new containers, and help keep our beautiful city clean.

If you have any questions about recycling or adopting a road, please call our office at 706-253-3600 and leave a message, we will return your phone call as soon as possible.
