It has been a terrific Great American Cleanup, and there is one more week to go. Come join Keep Pickens Beautiful to help beautify our county and do good things.
This past Saturday, Keep Pickens Beautiful hosted the Second Annual Earth Day on Main. They had craft activities, a raffle, lots of information about their projects in the community, and some terrific tunes from Andy Thacker.
KPB thanks all their raffle donors: 61 Main, Bad Donkey, Clock Tower Gifts & Boutique, Dog Tired Relics, The Hair Loft, Happy Stamper Metal Jewelry, Lollidrops, The Pickens County Progress, Sharptop Catering, Veredesigns, and Victor Nails and Tan. All the money raised will help support their projects and programs in the community.
Andy Thacker provided the perfect soundtrack to the day. He is a singer-songwriter from Jasper, Georgia and is influenced by artists such as Hank Williams, John Prine, Tyler Childers, and Townes Van Zandt. Andy also works some original music into his sets.
KPB would like to thank the Pickens Arts & Cultural Alliance for sponsoring music from Andy Thacker for their Earth Day event. Learn more about PACA at www.pickensartsandculturalalliance.org
Mark your calendar for Earth Day 2024 – Saturday, April 20 for more fun adventures!
Pickens County residents can still take up to 4 tires to the Pickens Recycling Center on Appalachian Court for FREE. Help keep our county clean.
Have you noticed all the roadside trash in our county? Come lend a hand!
KPB has one more Great American Cleanup event scheduled for 2023. Join the Pick-Up Pickens team as they clean North Main Street this coming Saturday, April 29, from 10:00-2:00. Meet at the KPB office – 56 South Main Street – and the crew will head north.
